FAQs

How does ACT differ to CBT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) are both evidence-based approaches, but they differ in their core philosophies and techniques, particularly in how they support individuals to navigate tricky thoughts and feelings.

CBT = Encourages you to change the thought or feeling to change the outcome.

ACT = Supports you to learn how to make room for the thought or feeling, whilst moving towards the life you want to lead and the person you want to be.

We believe that anxious thoughts or feelings cannot always be controlled in the space of food relationships, however we can learn to move forward in the presence of them, which works to quieten them over time.

What are Sophia and Emma's qualifications?

In both pathways, you receive unlimited access to the Eating with Ease online course, which is filled with all the tools you need to untangle your unhelpful relationship with food, learning how to tune out the noise and tune into your body.

In Eating with Ease Plus, you will also receive 2x live group calls lead by Emma and Sophia, where we answer all your questions.

Can anyone join Eating with Ease?

Eating with Ease is designed for individuals 16+ (under 16s require parental consent).

Eating with Ease is especially suited for people who feel stuck in unhelpful food patterns, like emotional eating, rigid food rules, or feeling overwhelmed by nutritional advice, and are looking for evidence-based support from both a nutritionist and a psychologist to shift their relationship with food.

This course is not intended for those requiring immediate medical, nutritional, or psychological intervention, instead it has been created as an educational support tool.

When can I start?

You can start the course whenever you like! It is a self-guided online course that you can jump in and out of whenever suits you best. If you are in the ‘Eating with Ease Plus’ pathway, we will let you know when the two live group calls will take place.
